Photos of Riad Dar Zitouna in Marrakech
Riad Zitouna, our beautiful private riad for the duration of the camp in Marrakech.

Named after the giant olive tree that grows inside the courtyard, Riad Dar Zitouna is located within walking distance of the Medina. It has a stunning terrace with views of the city, is beautifully decorated with Hispano-Moorish design, and the helpful staff will go above and beyond to make you comfortable during your stay.

Rooms are based on double occupancy. There is one double bed in each room at the Riad. If you would like your own room, please make a note of this in your application. An additional $100 fee will be charged, given there is availability.

A Morrocan style breakfast will be served on the terrace or in the courtyard each morning, which will include fresh juice, coffee, tea, homemade bread, and fresh fruit. Lunches will be on your own, and dinners are pre-arranged.

Please note: Moroccan cuisine incorporates many different spices such as ginger, cumin, and turmeric. While it’s not “hot” spicy, it’s very pungent and flavourful. Vegetarian diets are welcome.

Only 5 spaces remaining. Secure your place before Sep 12 and receive $100 off.

We’ll email you the application form and more details.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes these camps unique?

These camps are unique because you get a quick immersion into a local craft, regional cuisine and culture, and an opportunity to bond with other like-minded ladies from a variety of backgrounds. Because of the short length and affordability, you can join just for the camp or add it on to an existing or planned trip you have in the same country.

I want to do some good. How do these camps help others?

You help by supporting local makers’ trades, which gives them the opportunity to work one-on-one with foreigners, and by promoting their work.

What’s the point of joining when I could do all of these things on my own?

You’ll have access to new experiences you can’t do on your own, meet new people, and save time planning so you can spend more time exploring and experiencing new things. Plus, it’s super affordable…

Why does it cost $689?

This camp is an almost all-inclusive trip with a private guide for 3.5 days. There’s a good chance even if you were to do this on your own, it would cost something similar, if not more.

Is this luxurious or super-budget?

Neither. To make these camps financially viable and marketable, we have found a balance between quality and price. You will be staying in beautiful guesthouses and family-run hotels, no hostels. But please don’t expect the Four Seasons.

What will the weather be like in Marrakech this time of year?

The average daily temperature in the month of October hovers around 21 degrees Celsius with lows of 15 and highs of 27. Expect plenty of sunshine and very little to no rain.

What basic etiquette should we keep in mind?

93% of the country of Morocco is Muslim. Though most people are religious, they are generally easy-going. Women should be aware that showing bare legs and shoulders can be offensive and is best if avoided. Tipping is expected (1-5dh in cafes or restaurants) and 10-15% for upmarket establishments.

What basic etiquette should we keep in mind?

Accidents happen. For this reason, we require you to have valid travel insurance. Check with your credit card company to see if you are covered. If you’re Canadian, read this post on insurance. Already traveling (from anywhere in the world)? This post for you.

Only 5 spaces remaining. Secure your place before Sep 12 and receive $100 off.

We’ll email you the application form and more details.
